I was a student for five months in [redacted] (January to May, completed classes, and graduated in May) and was employed from August to December. My parents are undecided on whether they should claim me as a dependent this year, and I am uncertain as well. I made HSA and Roth contributions in the past 12 months, in addition to purchasing a car in February. I want to ensure that my status as a dependent or an independent accurately reflects these circumstances and helps me save the most money.

I had a problem with H&R Block not deactivating my stolen Emerald card, resulting in my [redacted] stimulus funds of $4,[redacted] being deposited onto the card on 3/15/[redacted]. Despite contacting multiple representatives and a supervisor, they initially denied receiving the funds from the IRS. The lack of responsibility, poor communication, and dishonesty from H&R Block have left me frustrated. I have received conflicting case numbers, struggled to speak with a manager, and found contacting their corporate office to be challenging. Despite reaching out to the CEO, Jeffrey Jones, via email and voicemail, I have not received a response. This situation is impacting my ability to support my family, and resolving it is crucial.

I initiated a return through MyBlock and entered all my tax details. I opted for Tax Pro Review with Denise Hauk and paid $[redacted]. After spending 3 hours at a local office to resolve why Denise couldn't access my return, I was unable to get it resolved. Tech support redirected me to DIY support, who mentioned the return being stuck. Despite unable to assist with the refund, DIY support directed me to FSH support, who then guided me to a non-functional webpage. Although I ultimately had my return prepared at the local office, I am now seeking a refund for the online fee.

I filed my taxes online, expecting my federal return to be directly deposited. However, according to your records, it was mailed instead. I did receive my state return via direct deposit, but I have yet to receive my federal refund. The "Where's My Refund" tool indicates that the refund was sent to my account on the 5th. I am confused and concerned about the status of my federal refund. Additionally, I tried to contact you using the only phone number provided, but the call drops after waiting to speak with a representative. This has been a frustrating experience as I have been filing my taxes online with your service for years.

I purchased H&R Block software to file my taxes at home. However, my return was rejected by the IRS due to an AGI discrepancy, even though the software had initially approved it. After confirming the issue with the IRS, I attempted to use the software's link to fix it, but encountered HTML errors in the repair process. The [redacted] update also failed to amend my [redacted] return. Ultimately, I resorted to the website for assistance, but was unable to upload my form for evaluation and had to request help from an agent, resulting in additional expenses for filing and re-submitting my state taxes. I'm frustrated with this experience, which has cost me over $[redacted] in total. If I can't get a satisfactory resolution, I will no longer use H&R Block software, and neither will anyone I know. I demand that my original filed form be accepted, and a refund of approximately $[redacted]. This ordeal has wasted a significant amount of my time and caused considerable inconvenience.

I am seeking a refund for the $[redacted] I paid at H&R Block this year. Initially, I bought the software to file my taxes at home, but my return was rejected due to an AGI discrepancy. Unfortunately, the software did not have guidance on correcting this issue, leaving me stuck. I tried to upload my return online, but encountered difficulties. After paying $[redacted] to speak with an agent, I redid my taxes online, and the discrepancy vanished without needing the agent's assistance. I am requesting a refund of the $[redacted] fee. Thank you.

I purchased the H&R Block Premium software to handle my taxes at home. After submitting to the IRS, it was rejected due to a discrepancy in the AGI. Despite following email instructions, the part addressing the issue was blank. Attempting to correct it by adjusting the previous year's AGI in the software proved futile. Seeking professional help online cost me $[redacted], only to realize I had to redo my taxes. After resolving the discrepancy and getting guidance from another source on fixing the forms, my home-prepared taxes were finally accepted. I now wish to be refunded the $[redacted] spent on unnecessary assistance.

I submitted our tax forms to the H & R Block office in Warrenton VA on March 23 at 9:00 am. They assured me that our paperwork would be processed and taxes filed within a week. It has been three weeks now, and our returns are still pending. Despite my repeated calls, no one has responded to my inquiries. I have concerns that our documents may have been lost or misplaced. Previously, when we received our filed return from them, we found another individual's financial information enclosed. To prevent any issues, I followed the office's advice and destroyed the misplaced file. However, I regret not contacting the other party about the mix-up. I am seeking advice on how to ensure our taxes are filed before the deadline. Your prompt attention is appreciated. Thank you.

I arrived for my appointment only to find out it had been canceled due to a lack of available staff. Despite being a customer for 13 years and never missing an appointment before, I was disappointed by the lack of communication. Instead of receiving a courtesy call beforehand, I was simply turned away upon arrival. We were not even given a definite rescheduling time but asked to submit our tax information and wait for a callback. It would have been much more respectful to inform us ahead of time and provide the opportunity to reschedule. The appointment was scheduled for 5 pm at [redacted] Duke St, Alexandria, VA [redacted] under the name of Susan S. Situations like this can arise, but it's crucial to communicate and offer a timely solution rather than inconveniencing customers unnecessarily.

Hello, I have been a loyal H&R Block customer in NYC for 15 years. After moving to France, I asked my tax advisor to prepare my [redacted] taxes, clearly stating my new residency. Despite this, she mistakenly calculated my taxes as if I still resided in NY. Upon reviewing my taxes, I noticed I was charged $[redacted] instead of the correct fee of $[redacted]. I was promised a $70 credit for the overcharge, but despite multiple attempts to contact my tax advisor and H&R Block, I have not received the credit. I find this lack of response disappointing and frustrating. My credit card was promptly charged for the tax preparation, but the promised credit has not been issued. I seek assistance in resolving this issue promptly. Thank you, Robert W.

Hello, For the past 15 years, my spouse and I have been getting our taxes done at H&R Block in NYC. Since retiring and moving to France, we asked our longtime tax advisor to handle our [redacted] taxes. Despite notifying her of our change in residency from NY State, she mistakenly prepared our taxes for NY State using our old address. As a result, we ended up paying a $[redacted] tax prep fee on February 23rd, instead of the correct $[redacted]. We were assured a $70 credit for the overpayment but have yet to receive it after our taxes were filed on March 4th. Despite multiple attempts to contact her via email, the H&R website, and her office, we have not received any response regarding the credit. It is disappointing to experience this lack of communication from H&R, considering the immediate charge on my credit card for the tax prep fee. I hope this matter can be promptly resolved. Thank you, R. W.

I need assistance clarifying if any funds will be debited from my bank account on Tuesday, April 18th. Despite selecting to establish an online payment agreement with the IRS during my filing process, I am uncertain. Although the IRS confirmed my payment plan with a $[redacted] monthly installment on the 20th of each month, there is ambiguity. Having submitted my taxes on the H&R website, I provided bank account details for federal and state returns, opting for the state payment on 4/7. I did not authorize a federal tax deduction as I set up the online agreement. My worry stems from selecting 4/18 as a date for federal tax deduction on the site. I lack the $11,[redacted] balance for the IRS and cannot reach H&R Block to confirm. To avoid any unauthorized withdrawal, I urgently request assurance that no funds will be withdrawn on Tuesday. Please review my situation using confirmation # [redacted][redacted]7. Thank you for your help. - Justin J.

I accidentally purchased the H&R Block [redacted] Deluxe Software instead of the [redacted] version. I made the purchase at 8:10 PM PST on 4/15. Initially, I searched for "H&R Block Tax Software" and ended up on a webpage that displayed "Deluxe Software" without specifying the year. I assumed it was the [redacted] version. After downloading and starting the installation, I realized it was, in fact, the [redacted] version. I conducted another Google search specifying "[redacted]" and proceeded with purchasing the correct [redacted] Deluxe Software. I'm seeking a refund for the [redacted] version purchased on 4/15 as I already own the [redacted] software from a previous purchase in March [redacted]. If the H&R Block webpage had clearly indicated the year of the software being sold, I wouldn't have encountered this issue. I hope to have the charge for the [redacted] version refunded while keeping the charge for the [redacted] software that I successfully purchased seconds later.

I am experiencing an issue with the Deluxe version of your downloadable software. It incorrectly indicates that we over contributed to our HSA, which is not the case. After confirming with our HSA company, the error seems to be related to the question about both partners having a health plan and HSA savings. According to IRS guidelines, we can have one plan and fully fund it without needing separate HSA accounts. We have not even reached the contribution limit. If the glitch persists, upgrading us to the Premium version could be a solution to consider. We have spent hours on the phone, speaking with multiple representatives, experiencing disconnections, and overall feeling unsatisfied with the service received from H & R Block. Understandably, this is not your responsibility. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, E. H.

I recently had my taxes prepared in Laurel, MT by a tax professional who seemed unqualified. I had to point out where the state tax information was on my W2 form. Initially, I was told I didn't owe state taxes, but later was informed of a $[redacted] payment due. I feel completely taken advantage of paying $[redacted] for a service that was not satisfactory. I regret not walking out when I had the chance. The preparer provided no explanation and I believe I could have handled my taxes myself knowing what I know now. Additionally, the preparer's unprofessional attire was disappointing. This experience left me extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. -Brian White

I was a receptionist until Tuesday and I scheduled someone for April 19th because all our tax professionals were busy and had limited availability for him to get his taxes done. I feel guilty about this as I didn't ask one of the tax pros if he needed an extension until much later. I'm feeling really bad about it even though he would still be filing closest to the deadline. I just need someone to talk to. Thank you.

I recently filed an amended return with both of my K1s for my two businesses included. However, during the professional review, an error occurred. The reviewer mistakenly deleted one of the businesses based on the wrong K1 information. Despite my attempts to rectify the situation, I have been left with my tax return in limbo as the reviewer stopped responding. I am disappointed with the service provided by HR Block.

I had my [redacted] taxes prepared at the Forest Drive office in Columbia, South Carolina, by Henry Clay at H&R Block. I paid $[redacted] but didn't receive a refund. In [redacted], I visited another tax office and discovered my [redacted] returns were incorrect. After amending them, I finally received my refund eight months later. When I contacted the corporate office, they provided me with a case number. However, the Forest Drive branch refused to refund my $[redacted], citing a three-year limitation. This experience has left me frustrated, especially since the person who was supposed to handle my taxes in [redacted] was no longer working there. It's disappointing to see this lack of accountability at an H&R Block location.

I am experiencing significant difficulties with the HR Block office where I sought assistance with my taxes. I bought the HR Block software on April 8th but had trouble inputting my K1 information correctly. I visited the office on [redacted] S. Western Ave, Chicago IL [redacted] on April 10th to have my taxes prepared and reviewed by Danita Winfield. Despite assurances that my taxes would be completed by April 13th, there was a lack of communication and my taxes weren't started promptly. Despite attempts to reach Danita and the office, I faced unanswered calls, delayed responses, and found the office closed during supposed working hours. The poor customer service and lack of updates have added unnecessary stress and anxiety to my tax situation. I am unsure about the status of my taxes and request urgent contact from a manager or district director. Thank you. Todd Taylor

I have been using the same tax preparer for 5 years. After receiving a card from Phyllis Brown Smith from the Midway office in San Diego, CA, I made an appointment with their office on April 15. I dropped off all my documents but have not heard back from Phyllis or the H&R Block office yet. When I called, they informed me that no work has been done on my paperwork. If I incur any fines due to this delay, I will hold the company responsible. I am extremely disappointed in this situation.
