I filed my UI claim on 3/22/20 due to the mandatory stay-at-home order in CA starting on 3/20/20 due to COVID-19. After receiving all the papers, I noticed my UI Award Letter dated 4/1/20 shows all zeros for my max benefit amount and highest quarter earnings under the "Standard Base Period." The EDD benefit calculator app estimated my highest quarterly earning at $[redacted] and a weekly benefit of $[redacted], which conflicted with my awarded amount. I've been unemployed for over 5 years until I started working with my current employer in 10/[redacted]. My claim was calculated based on the Standard Base Period, not the Alternate Base Period I may qualify for. Despite certifying online for two weeks, my account shows "Not Paid" and a message stating "No benefits are available at this time." I've tried multiple times to contact EDD without success due to the high volume of claims. I have questions regarding my claim status, why the Alternate Base Period wasn't used, and how to correct the "Not Paid" status. I also inquire about the additional $[redacted] benefit and possibly qualifying for PUA under the CARES Act. I seek clarity on when my Bank of America EDD prepaid card will be sent. The lack of communication from EDD is frustrating, and I hope for answers to all my queries.

On April 4, [redacted], I applied for benefits and received my first payment. Surprisingly, on April 12, I was prompted to reopen my claim when logging in. After struggling to reach a representative, I decided to reopen it. During a call on April 14, the representative advised me to wait until April 19, [redacted], to certify for benefits, but couldn't provide insight as to why the claim needed reopening. I am concerned that this may impact my benefit eligibility from my initial application date of April 4, rather than the reopening date. As a furloughed parent with children relying on this support until July 15, [redacted], I am anxious to ensure everything will work out as intended.

I reopened my existing claim online on 04/05/20. When I checked back a week later, it wasn't there, so I had to reopen it again. Now, my claim has expired, and I am being asked to start over with a new claim. It seems like they are not acknowledging my reopened claim, only asking for a new one. This situation is becoming frustrating as I cannot keep redoing my claim due to it getting lost. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this promptly. Thank you.

I recently initiated a new claim with EDD after losing my contract job due to COVID-19 on March 24th. I followed the instructions to file a claim, even though there might be a wait for federal assistance. My claim was successfully processed, and I received an ID number. However, I encountered two issues. I had a previous claim for about 4 months in [redacted]/18 with a different email, which is now causing problems with registering my new claim account online. It seems I need to link the two emails/accounts to proceed. Additionally, the letter I received stated I had earned $0 in the past quarters, resulting in my claim showing no benefits. I wasn't aware I needed to input salary info from previous jobs, so only entering the earnings from my lost job caused a discrepancy. I now need to speak with someone to resolve these issues and move forward.

I recently applied for unemployment benefits and submitted the required qualification form for the weeks of March 28 and April 4. I received a message stating that I did not qualify for the March 28 week due to receiving sick pay, but I have not heard back regarding the April 4 week. It has been two additional weeks without any updates or payments since I filed my claim. I am in urgent need of assistance as I am running out of funds after being laid off from my 8-year job. Despite trying to reach out for help, I have not been able to resolve this issue. While my coworkers have received their payments, I am still waiting. I am hoping for a prompt response to alleviate my financial hardship.

I was furloughed by my employer and attempted to file a UI claim on the EDD website. Unfortunately, I forgot my EDD password and initiated the password reset process. Despite not receiving the password reset email after two attempts and waiting for approximately 16 hours, I have been unable to unlock my account as it remains temporarily locked. Additionally, the EDD website indicates service issues for some users. I would appreciate any assistance from Get Human to resolve these login problems promptly so I can successfully submit my UI claim. Thank you for any help you can offer.

I applied for unemployment on March 22, but I made a mistake and couldn't correct it, so my benefits are pending with $0.00. On April 12, [redacted], I successfully filed a new claim with the right details. However, my concern is that my new claim shows a start date of 4/12/[redacted] instead of using my initial filing from March. I need to rectify the error in my original claim. Unfortunately, I can't contact anyone for assistance as the online portal won't send my emails, and the phone lines are inaccessible.

I submitted my application with Uber/Lyft in early April, prior to the launch of the site for Independent Contractors, Gig workers, and self-employed individuals. In light of the misclassification of Uber/Lyft drivers in California, I included my work details for Uber/Lyft and also mentioned the closure of my licensed in-home child care business. As a result, I am currently without any source of income. The last work I completed for Lyft/Uber was on March 5th, and I received forms stating my benefit amount as 0. I have reached out multiple times online to inquire whether I should cancel my current claim and reapply on April 28th when the system is updated for my claim type. I fear the potential delay in canceling my current claim before I can reapply. Considering my situation as a misclassified worker, I am unsure of the best course of action. Despite my efforts to contact them, I have not received any responses to my messages, leaving me feeling lost and frustrated.

I am in need of assistance with a claim I filed on 3/20/20 due to being laid off because of the coronavirus. Despite sending in identity verification by mail 3 1/2 weeks ago and again last week, I have yet to receive any benefits. While attempting to edit the claim to include the past 18 months' income, it created a new claim by mistake. I have made numerous calls and sent emails without any response. Today, after a 4-hour hold, I was abruptly disconnected with a message saying the office was closed, leaving me frustrated and unable to provide for my children. I have attached a screenshot of the call for your review and would appreciate guidance on how to proceed.

Hello, I filed a claim in March and initially received a Continued claim form. Shortly after, I got my benefit amount and Customer account number, but then I was unexpectedly disqualified. Remembering a disqualification back in [redacted] due to illness after maternity leave, I am now worried. It has been four weeks and I have not received any communication from EDD. I have submitted multiple inquiries without any response, and I am facing the possibility of losing my home. I am desperately seeking guidance on how to reach someone for assistance. The homepage indicates I must search for work, which I have been doing. I understand the challenges everyone is facing, but I am feeling overwhelmed and urgently need help.

As a nurse currently on disability due to an injury and surgery, I have been receiving biweekly payments until last week when I did not receive my payment. Despite numerous attempts to contact EDD, I have not received any information regarding my DI. I suspect the issue might be related to a required Continue Disability Questionnaire (DE [redacted] or DE 2500A) that I have not received through my online account or mail, and is not available for download on the EDD website. I have verified that my address and personal information on my online profile are correct. I have been trying to reach EDD by phone without success. I urgently need to determine why my benefits were not received and, if it is due to the questionnaire, have it sent to my online account promptly for completion as I am still medically unable to return to work.

I have not received any information regarding the status of my Disability Insurance (DI) application. My online profile does not show any messages in my inbox, and I have not received any communication via mail. I believe I am required to complete the Continue Disability Questionnaire (DE [redacted] or DE 2500A) but have not received it through my online account or by mail. The form is also not available for download on the EDD website. I have verified that my address and personal information are up to date in my online profile. I have been attempting to contact EDD by phone since last Thursday without success. I urgently need to understand why my benefits have not been received, and if it is due to the questionnaire, I need it to be provided on my online account promptly so that I can complete it as soon as possible. It is crucial for me to continue receiving disability benefits as I am still unable to return to work.

Since March 27th, I have been unemployed. When I certified my benefits on April 19th, I received a message regarding my certification for the weeks ending on 04/11/[redacted] and 04/18/[redacted] indicating a disqualification. I need assistance to resolve this issue promptly so that I can receive payment for the weeks I have already certified. I do not want to wait until May 3rd to certify for more weeks. Thank you for your help in addressing this matter. Sincerely, [Initials]

Hello, I am inquiring about an overpayment penalty I received from EDD due to a discrepancy in [redacted]. I have settled all associated fees and completed 2 of the 7 probationary weeks. Despite steady work this year, I haven't been able to claim additional weeks. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the closure of all three of my current jobs, a situation I never expected. Previously, the penalty would have equated to 4 weeks of $[redacted] each, totaling $1,[redacted]. However, with the new federal assistance, the maximum claim could reach $4,[redacted] for those 4 weeks. I am wondering if the Governor could waive the probationary period during this crisis. Will applicants, like me, be eligible for the $[redacted] Federal assistance? Denying claims in my circumstance seems unjust and could hinder economic recovery. Many individuals may struggle to afford food or rent due to such technicalities.

I am attempting to file an initial claim for Unemployment Insurance. My last day of work was 3/34/20, however, I later learned that it was until further notice on 4/1/20. I have been trying to submit a claim online and over the phone, but have been unsuccessful. I have spent over 50 hours on the phone without speaking to a live person and the online submission process has been challenging. I managed to submit most of my claim two to three weeks ago, but encountered issues with the application continually disappearing. After speaking to someone in Sacramento, I was advised to mail or drop off the application. Despite completing a six-page form, I am unable to email the CA EDD as I cannot find a mailing address. I have been without income for almost two months and need assistance getting a PIN for my claim. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I completed my certification online and overall found it easy. However, I encountered an issue with the payment amount. Instead of $[redacted], only $9.99 was deducted. I initially thought it was corrected as I didn't notice a significant payment deduction. The website only allowed one digit in the first box and two in the next, leading to confusion about entering $[redacted]. It appears that an overpayment was made to me. I am seeking guidance on how to rectify this promptly rather than waiting for it to resolve itself. I prefer not to delay payment by resorting to sending a hard copy via mail. If possible, I would like the first week's check to be stopped to reflect the correct amount for the work completed. I don't have my customer number on hand, but the email address used to create the account is [redacted].

I need assistance with my claim. I recently applied for benefits due to COVID-19 but received a disqualification on my EDD account after completing my weekly certification. I did not receive any notice in the mail explaining the reason for disqualification. I believe I may have made an error while filling out the forms online. I am looking to speak with someone to understand why I was disqualified and how to resolve this issue.

I have two jobs. I work as a classified employee 30 hours a week and I am a W-2 worker, continuing to receive pay during the school closure. My second position is as an independent contractor with an educational agency. Due to students not wanting online instruction during the shutdown, my work providing direct instruction at home as an educational therapist was halted. I have been released from service with the promise of resuming in the Fall post the shelter-in-place orders lifting, without a specific start date. Can I apply for unemployment for my second position and should I do so through UI or a different channel? I have initiated the UI process, but it shows my district job as my last position and does not offer choices for currently employed individuals, nor does it account for the reduction in hours from the independent contractor role.

I attempted to file back in March, and the last day I worked was March 17th. I have been a telephone technician for 20 years and due to COVID-19, I cannot currently work. I am planning to return to work when feasible. The issue arises because I tried to file using a [redacted] form for partial work, but EDD stated I need to speak to a representative. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone despite calling for weeks. My HR advised me to file the regular way and I have done so. I now have a claim and have been paid for two weeks. However, the problem is that I never received a BofA card, and I received a message from EDD asking me to file again or contact my office. This situation is incredibly frustrating as I am unable to work at customer sites. I have not been able to receive the assistance I need and deserve. Please help. Thank you, John K.

I initiated a claim at the end of March. Everything progressed smoothly, and I received my first payment for the initial two weeks. However, when I went to recertify, I was prompted to reopen my claim, despite remaining benefits in my account. Confused, I complied with the request. Two days have passed since the system acknowledged my request, but today, Sunday, it shows the need to reopen the claim once again. I've attempted to contact customer service to clarify this issue to no avail. I've also sent numerous emails and inquiries through the EDD portal without receiving any response. The lack of communication is frustrating. I seek guidance on what steps to take next.
